This is Griff, their official mascot. Does she look happy to you?

Griff stands in a cage all day at the petting zoo where she can barely turn around. Since there is nowhere for her to go, she also urinates and defecates in the same area as her food & water inside the cage. When we asked a staff worker why the pony is in such a small enclosure and if she is ever allowed out he told us that she is only allowed out when there are no customers in the petting zoo. This is because she may bite. The worker went on to tell us that he’s never seen Griff try to bite anyone before and isn’t really sure why they keep her in there.

This is how you treat the “mascot” of your business?? Seems like Griff could use some love and attention at a sanctuary where she can roam freely and do what horses do naturally. With other horses, not alone in a cage barely the size of her body.

GPPR's own website states that when the horses are ready to retire, they find homes for them and if you're interested in offering a home, send them an email... So we did. We offered a home for the obviously elderly Griff but were advised by GPPR staff that they didn't have any ponies close to retiring age. Within a week, Griff disappeared and hasn't been seen since. Hmmmm....
