It's only May and we have 91 degree heat already. Summer hasn't even started yet. These animals are worked regardless of how hot it gets. Despite their "company policy", they just don't care and consider it acceptable to force animals to work in hot weather, in the sun for 7 hours a day.

We obviously don't experience much cold weather in Los Angeles but when we do, as we did last December, temperatures dropped to low 40s and rain was pouring on the unprotected horses.

"The outdoor pony enclosures and shelters meet most of the requirements of state and federal laws but are not optimal for protecting the ponies in extreme wind or rain. They have no wind breaks, have poor drainage, and were still muddy from recent rains." - said veterinarian Rachael Sachar after observing the area in which the horses were made to stand during the heavy rains we had last December. The full report available HERE. There is a barn in which these horses and ponies could be housed during inclement weather, but the facility owner Stephen Weeks chose to leave them outside.
